Malay opto

I 'smell' some racism here among my friends. Some do not like chinese pple, some even hate indian and etc. I think it's normal and I believe they (the other races) do not like us too ~ considering how lucky we are to be given privileges by the government ;-)

I frankly say that I do not favor chinese neighbours for the reason that I could not tolerate the smell of their chinese joss because I m asthmatic. I don't like the smell to lay on my clothes and curtains. They remain there for as long as you don't wash. But I have no problem with regards to their attitude. They are equally kind-hearted and caring just like us. Sometime, they are even better than Malays neighbor. The same goes to Indian neighbor. I think, attitude is not formed by race, but by blood. I found jerk malays and indians and chinese too. But I found others who are good people. So, why would be so worry to have a non-malay neighbor right next to your door when you have'nt got to know them? ~ just chilled out lah.

Anyway, when it comes to business deal, I think Chinese is a lot better than Malays. [now, aku ke yang racist ni?] my daughter and husband's insurance agent is a Chinese. Okay, he's not that good in terms of pleasing our heart like malay agents always do. My insurance agent is a malay female. Now, she's dissapeared, uncontactable and if I want to get anything informed, I have to refer to the bank that provides the coverage. She's nowhere to be found. Contrary to this chinese agent, he's always there when needed. Off course he is so business thinking kind of man. Everytime he saw me, the first thing he said would be ~ ada business tak? Chet! Aku ke yang jadi ejen dia? And I m ashamed to tell him that most of my friend do not want to have a chinese agent because they want to help malay agent. Entah apa2... In terms of work, chinese agent did his job quite fast, I mean, husband was once hospitalised and had the opportunity to use the insurance card. His claim was processed within fairly short period. Aku pun tumpang seronok. The malay agent? Usah diharaplah. Entah masih hidup atau sudah mati, pun tak tahu.

Another thing that I rely so much on chinese businessman is with regards to my lenses. I ve been using spectacles since I was 12 (or 13) and it means that I v been with 4 eyes for 20 years. I keep buying myself new pair of spectacles every 1 or 2 years of use. Sometimes because the power was not suitable anymore, or that I just wanted to have new frame on. All the while I've been purchasing my glasses from a chinese shop at kampong. I remember when I first tried out the goods and services, the owner of the shop was so young and handsome. Until I met him last 2 years, he was a bit old, and his youngest daughter was fast grown up to assist him on sale. The parents of this man were also look so old. I dont know how they are doing at the moment.

Me and my family (my late dad, siblings and close relative) have been attaching ourselves to this shop for years. We all did our first glasses here, and for me up until the current glasses. The owner will always warmly greeted us and gv the best services, right from checking the power up until testing the end product. Even if he had his workers in (or the daughter) for us, he'll be attending personally. Hence the comfy feeling.

This time around, the shop has been closed for quite some times for the chinese new yr celebration. I could'nt have the chance to do my next lens there. So sad.

I decided to wait for no more. I can barely accept the low degree on my eyes. I see shadows and fogs. On the heat of the days, the strong dazzle prohibit my clear view. Sangat menderita.

So I went to this Malay shop called Optik Idaman at Danau Kota, just at the back of Ong Tai Kim. There are couples or more of spectacles shops available there, but I thought I should gv the try to a malay shop~ just like cik A who always gv the first chance to help malay.

I came on Sunday afternoon and had my eyes checked. He told that the power has reduced. Then I booked the Essailor brand for the transition lens (to overcome the dazzle on hot sun) I thought this brand is okay.

I came on Monday to have my lens changed to the new lens. Waited for half an hour (bosan gila, melayu katanya, tapi tak borak langsung dengan aku, sebab aku dah bayar habis agaknya) then the new lens was ready for use. The new lens was cool in eyes, but my view was not clear. I experienced headache when I wore it. I thought, perhaps the new reduced power was not good. Wait for 24 hours. The next day I went to work like usual. Headache gone, but the view was worsening. I saw all writing in dual line. Be it on papers or on pc screen. I called up the shop. I wanted to talk to the owner. The Manager replaced. The owner was not around. I told everything, he sound sympathized and asked me to come down for new lens.

Tuesday evening, me, husband and Arissa came down. Had my new normal lens on. The Manager said, the new lens was based on my old power, but I felt different. Never mind. I waited for 24 hours to have the real outcome [mind me, I ve been changing lenses for many times the whole of my life but this is the first time I came across such unpleasant feel] When I use the lens this morning, my view was still not clear. When I closed my right eye, my left eye could not see well. When I force to read/write/type, the characters are all slanting.

I called up again En Jani the Manager. I demanded to speak with the Owner, En. Sopahan, a Sarawakian. He's not around. I was so angry that I thought they are messing around with me. I said, if I had to make a new pair of glasses in some other place, I might as well sue for indemnity. Then he got shaken. I just wanted them to know that I v been suffering after paying RM350 for that stupid thing that was supposedly cured my view but instead worsen them. I had to endure the headache, and made use of the bad view for my work (which is most of the time involving reading and typing with small characters!) Those who don't wear glasses would not be able to appreciate my difficulties.

At last, I was able to speak with the Owner. I said, I wanted to redo everything with his assistance, and no one else.

This is my first time dealing with malay optometrist. Too bad that I got the bad one. I sure will not involve with them anymore.
