It's Monday again.
Many are still on leave in lieu with tomorrow's public holiday awal Muharam. I m still here, helping out my friend who's not on leave :-) cheer-up.
Over the last weekend, we got 2 invitations for relatives' wedding receptions. One on my part, was my uncle's daughter's wedd at Keratong, Pahang and on my hubby's part was his cousin's daughter's wedd at JB.
At first, it was tough to decide where to go as the receptions fell on the same 4th Dec date. Husband said he wanted to meet his relatives there as he was originally from JB and few uncles are still staying there. Further SIL booked 3 rooms in her friend's hotel at the JB town with a plan that we all shd visit Singapore as well. She even allocated the Myvi car for our use. She'll help to pay for the fuel. Very appealing. It seems that we had more reasons to off for JB :-)
On the other hand, my mom and bro's family were staying at my hse, the night before they left for Pahang. Mom said, my uncle would be waiting for our visit since we have'nt got there since our wedding. The journey wont be sponsored, but we could tag along with my 3rd sis' van.
I told husband that I thk we shd see my uncle. Husband said otherwise. We did not visit both relatives since our wedding. To go to my side alone will hamper the another side. I dont favor going together with husband's family. We did that few times already. To Mersing once, and to the niece's wedding the second time. But my husband also tagged along while we went for my bro's engagement ceremony in Felda Tementi. Pahang. Such a long hilly journey as well. So he said, JB would be much fun as the facilities were more tempting. But in the end he agreed to me that we shd'nt go to any of them.
Instead, we choose to leave for Cameron Highland!
I told my mum and bro that we'd go to JB instead of Pahang, and husband told his mom and sis that I could'nt go for JB as I was on duty in Court on Saturday :-D
We left for CH on Saturday at about 11am.
Needless say that CH was always my fav place [I have'nt had overseas holiday yet, so I thk, CH is the best place for the time being :-)] It was a rainy season there, plus the cold weather and the green hills. Beautiful.
Everything was nice except that we had to endure traffic jams! It took us 6 hours to reach Brinchang.
We did't book any hotel, and due to the super peak season (weekend and school holidays at end of the yr) all hotels/motels were full hse!! (Padan la muko eden! Menipu punyo pasal, Tuhan dah tunjuk kan tuh, haha...)
Since all hotels/motels were full, we decided to walk-in at all available hotels/motels in Brinchang. There was none at first. We see few buses and many private cars were loading all areas. Such a massive traffic conditions everywhere, plus it was raining all hours! We stopped in front of a small supermarket and husband tried his luck to walk-in at nearby hotels.
Alhamdulillah finally husband got a room at this hotel!!!
The rate was supposedly RM145 p/night but due to the super peak season, it costs us RM170 for a good 1 night sleep. Syukur...
The room was okay, somethg like this pic (thank you google). Although I would hardly suggest anyone for this hotel because the view was not good (never mind tho). 2 times before this, we stayed at Rossa Pasadena, which we think better and more convenient.
Thanks to google for all the pic. I have'nt uploaded all the pics from husband's camera.
After asar prayers, we got out for some evening views at the hills and bought some gifst for ourselves. It took less than 10 minutes to leave for the shops, but we spend 2.5 hours to get back to Brinchang due to the really loooooooong traffic jams!
Somethg like this pic, but worst! We'd see cars lining up as if they park on the road!
It was after azan isyak that we arrived at the night market site and it was still rainy. We bought some food, fruits, gifts and Arissa's clothes. Then returned to hotel for a nap. Arissa slept very well at her own bed while me and husband shared the queen bed.
The next morning we got up quite early and left at 8 for Boh Tea Centre at Sungai Palas. We had bfast there and Arissa happily explored the place, running here and there. At 10am we went for another shopping at the morning market where we stumbled into my interpreter and family as he was on vacation as well.
At 12pm, we left Kowloon for KL and there was a looooong jam on the other side of the road, until end of the winding road. Kesian kome yer, entah pukol berapa nyer nak tiba ke CH...
We stopped many times for lunch, prayers, Arissa's toilet, Arissa's bath, ayah's toilet, driver-co pilot exchanged, bought some meals for our dinner, etc and arrived home at 6pm.....such a longggg tiring journey indeed.
I m still in CH's fatigue mood. Hope to go there sometime next yr, and we better plan it well. Don't go during the school holiday season and make sure to book the best place for rest :-)
